About the Panelists:

Sheila Warren, Head of Blockchain, Digital Assets and Data Policy | World Economic Forum

Sheila began her career as a Wall Street attorney before turning to philanthropy and non-profit tech over a decade ago. She has represented banks, philanthropists and progressive non-profits. Most recently, she was VP of strategic alliances and general counsel of TechSoup, the global social enterprise that has connected civil society organizations around the world with over $9bn in donated tech-based resources. Previously, Sheila also designed and launched NGOsource, a service focused on international grant making. Sheila is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law.

Carmelle Cadet, Founder & CEO | Emtech

Carmelle is a passionate leader and advocate for the use of digital currency and distributed ledger technologies for payment modernization and financial inclusion initiatives around the world.

Carmelle led the global business strategy and business development efforts for the Blockchain and Digital Asset segment of IBM Blockchain Financial Services.

Her and her team pioneered the stable coin business models/use cases for banks and central bank digital currencies. Her focus has been on Cross Border Payments and Wholesale Central Bank Systems (i.e. RTGS, Liquidity Management, etc.)

John Kiff, Senior Financial Sector Expert, International Monetary Fund

Since 2005, John has been a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to that, John worked at the Bank of Canada for 25 years, where he spent most of his time managing the funding and investment of the government’s foreign exchange reserves. At the IMF John is a part of the team that produces the semi-annual Global Financial Stability Report (GFSR). More recently John has been focusing on OTC derivative market infrastructure, securitization and longevity risk transfer markets. Outside of the GFSR John also publishes articles and papers on these topics, and blog and Tweet under the “Kiffmeister” moniker.
