Polychain Capital, founded in 2016, is one of the original crypto-native hedge funds to come onto the scene, investing in numerous early-stage startups and protocols. Founded by Coinbase’s first employee, Olaf Carlson-Wee, the fund was able to attract investment from prominent venture capital firms, including: Andreessen Horowitz, Union Square Ventures, and Sequoia Capital.
The firm has operated under the belief that as the cryptocurrency ecosystem develops, many different protocols will arise to suit different use cases, hence the name of the fund “Polychain”.
While this list may not represent all of Polychain’s investments, The Block has mapped out a total of 41 different public investments across seven sectors.
