Ethereum 2.0 developers unveil new bug bounty program

A new bug bounty program focused specifically on the run-up to the launch of Ethereum 2.0 (Eth2)’s initial phase has launched.

The program was unveiled by Eth2 project lead Danny Ryan in a post on Twitter Friday morning.

The program’s website details the focus on both the Phase 0 specifications as well as specific software clients, such as Prysm, Lighthouse and Teku.

“The Eth2 Bounty Program provides bounties for Eth2 (a major upgrade to Ethereum’s core consensus) bugs. We call on our community and all bug bounty hunters to help identify bugs in the protocols and clients,” the page notes.

As previously reported, the launch window for Eth2’s Phase 0 currently ranges between the beginning of November to sometime in January of next year, depending on the pace of development. In July, the Ethereum Foundation’s Justin Drake had highlighted the Eth2-focused bug bounty program as a key step ahead of any network launch.
